J Ford in His Lair

My name is J Ford. I am a designer, illustrator, writer and technologist. I focus on hyper-realism and precision modeling. I enjoy animation and technical illustration. I live in Santa Cruz, CA with my wife, son and 2 grumpy cats.

Prior to returning to school to focus on media and design, I gained years of experience designing, manufacturing and servicing custom high-end architectural products including functioning walls, custom hardware and solving unique design requirements. My hard work and attention to detail allowed me to work on architecturally important projects reproducing accurate, functional architectural details or designing unusual fenestration solutions. My experience in the building industry provided me with extensive field experience with contracts, management, logistics and business to business relations.

Presently I am a part-time student and Teaching Assistant at Cabrillo College. In addition, I work with a few businesses/personalities maintaining and improving their web assets and achieving their online marketing goals. While these activities keep me busy, I am looking to secure employment with a San Francisco Bay Area firm where I can further hone my skills in Digital Media.
